The in-person student event day takes place at the EINC (Im Neuenheimer Feld 225a) in D-69120 Heidelberg, Germany. The day happens directly after the EBRAINS users days on 6+7 October 2026.

Registration

The registration fee for the users day is 20 Euro (covering a lunch in the university mensa + coffee and cookies).

To complete your registration, please fill out the detailed registration form which will be emailed to you within 1 week of registering via one of the links above. This form also provides the opportunity to apply to moderate a Science Market session or present a Lightning Talk.

Introduction to the programme for the day with a brief overview of EBRAINS.

A Research Support & Guidance workshop led by Heidelberg University Research Service addressing topics within research funding and proposal writing.

The Science Market will present an opportunity for students and early career researchers to join moderated discussions around their chosen research topics, exchanging knowledge and research ideas and networking with peers. Attendees can apply to moderate a discussion on their area of work through the detailed registration form.

A series of 5 minute research presentations designed to support knowledge exchange and networking among attendees. Attendees can apply to present their work through the detailed registration form.

An informal session supported by icebreakers and group activities to generate networking and discussion among attendees.

During this coffee break there is the option to join a tour of the BrainScaleS neuromorphic computing infrastructure, based at the EINC in Heidelberg, delivered by BrainScaleS researchers.

This "Ask-Me-Anything" session featuring panelists from a range of career levels and paths will enable attendees to seek guidance on careers and other topics of importance to them. Panelists TBC.

An optional tour of the BrainScaleS neuromorphic computing infrastructure, based at the EINC in Heidelberg, delivered by BrainScaleS researchers.

Further opportunities for informal networking, with snacks provided, at a nearby bar. Venue: Ma Bar Time: attendees can go to the venue at any time as it is open as normal, and food will be provided from 18:30.
